The lord works in mysterious ways and lately the divine work has been flowing out from Gaydon in the United Kingdom. Serving to save us from the purgatory of dual-clutches and torque converters, Aston Martin has revealed a manual version of its new Vantage that pairs a dog-legged seven-speed manual transaxle with the AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-litre V-8. Bless their souls.

Not only that, the weight dropped by almost 100kg whilst still maintain the Vantage's near-perfect weight distribution in the swap. All other performance figures remain too; power is 503hp with 685Nm of torque and the top speed is 314kph. Only the century sprint suffers a with the manual dispatching it in 3.9-seconds as opposed to the 3.6-seconds of the auto.

As part of the swap, the engineers also integrated selectable active rev-matching and no-lift upshifts. Yes, the latter is as cool as it sounds. Even the limited-slip differential has been recalibrated by chief engineer Matt Becker while the drive modes (Sport, Sport+ and Track) have been retuned.

However, in keeping the balance of the universe, the Vantage AMR as it’ll be dubbed, will be limited to just 200 units of five designer specifications. Of that 200, 141 will be available in either Sabiro Blue, Onyx Black, China Grey or White Stone.

The remaining 59 will be a little special. They’ll be “crafted in celebration of the 60th anniversary since Aston Martin’s triumphant 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans victory with DBR1,” as per the press release.

Named “Vantage 59,” this fixed specification features a Stirling Green and Lime exterior paint scheme and Dark Knight leather and Alcantara interior, finished with a signature AMR lime stripe and stitch. Yes, you can have leather called Dark Knight in your Vantage; Bruce Wayne definitely approves.

All is not lost though as once the manual will still be offered as an option for the base Vantage once the AMR is sold out. They just might not be a special.
