Nobody would hold it against you for thinking that the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) was six feet under after dropping off the automotive radar for half a decade. However, it’s now back with a bigger and better venue so you better keep the period of 23 November to 2 December 2018 available to drop by.

The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) announced the dates at the new venue for the show, the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in KL, right next to MATRADE just off Jalan Duta.

Promising more space and all exhibits centralised, the show aims to attract 350,000 visitors over the 10-day period with the theme of “Beyond Mobility.”

Speaking during the launch, MAA president; Datuk Aishah Ahmad, mentioned that the hold up was primarily due to the previous venue being inadequate. Held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) prior to this, feedback from exhibitors pointed towards more centralised exhibition halls being a major concern with the PWTC halls split up from each other.

“The recent completion in the construction of Malaysia’s largest and state-of-the-art exhibition centre with the opening of the MITEC, was also an impetus for the return of KLIMS in 2018. MAA is confident that this brand new home for KLIMS will deliver a renewed experience for exhibitors and visitors alike,” she added.

The exhibitors list is already quite comprehensive with Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Daihatsu, Infiniti, Kia, Isuzu, Kawasaki, Lexus, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Nissan, Perodua, Proton, Toyota, UD, V-Kool and 3M all present and accounted for.
